INVERURIE LOCOS V HALL RUSSELL UTD - FRIENDLY MATCH
Locos maintained their perfect pre-season record with another victory on Tuesday night against an industrious Hall Russell side. Harlaw Park was basking in sunshine as Locos kicked off attacking the railway end. Craig Mackie was the first to have a pop at the target and his attempt flew wide. The Inverurie opener on eight minutes was a stonker. Stuart Duff cleverly scooped a lofted pass into the path of Andy HUNTER & the tall attacker crashed home a left foot drive into the far corner. Locos were knocking the ball around with aplomb & were two goals to the good on twenty four minutes. Neil GAULD received a Martin Laing pass before shooting low & hard into the corner. Mackie was the pick of the Halls side & again shot for goal as half time loomed. Neil Gauld almost netted again just on the strike of half time. Mark Souter was again having fine game & strode forward to drive just over the bar. Mackie continued to pop up in attacking positions & forced a decent stop from Mathieson. This was proving to be another good workout for Loco Works with the visitors hard to break down at times. Michael SELFRIDGE netted the third & final goal with a close range finish as the game drew to a close. FT 3-0. At the time of writing Locos were still looking to arrange a friendly for Saturday 22nd. The side will travel to Ian Mair Park on Tuesday to face Dyce Juniors, kick off 7.30pm, before the competitive action starts with a trip to North Lodge on Saturday July 29th. Off the park the club are away to launch a fresh website and the Supporters Group have also released their own Facebook page.
