Child Protection Policies (CWPO)
Head of Child Protection
Mark Cooper is a retired Detective Superintendent with Grampian Police/Police Scotland, and is in charge of Child Protection at Inverurie Loco Works F.C. Mark is a Safeguarding Tutor with the SFA and is also a Matchday Delegate with the SPFL.
Inverurie Loco Works FC is a true family club and as a family, we take the protection of all young people associated with the club very seriously. Any person under the age of 18 years is regarded as a child.
Whether it is a member of one of our Youth Teams, the children who carry out the role of ball boy (or girl) on match days, the mascots or indeed any spectator who comes to watch us play at Harlaw Park, their safety and wellbeing is a priority to me and the committee.
Everyone associated with the Locos, our committee and staff, is aware that Child Protection is a priority within the club. Our coaches are vetted and they are subject to PVG and Disclosure checks.
We have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy and our coaches and players sign up to strict codes of conduct and these are available for all to see on the Club website. These are backed up and supported by Policy statements around Children’s Rights, Child Protection and Anti Bullying.
It is important that anyone with any concerns around the protection of children at the Locos airs these concerns as soon as possible and contacts our Child Protection lead and committee member Mark Cooper. Mark can be contacted on 07713 283899 or by email -
